The cedar deck extends to the custom lighting built directly into the King Posts at the bottom of the staircase. Elegant steel balusters from Deckorators provide an elegant touch to both the stairs and the deck proper.

This particular project was done in stages; the planter on the left side of the deck was designed as a semi-permanent feature until the homeowner installed a hot tub.  Cedar skirting around the entire deck prevents children and small animals from climbing under the deck, and adds a solid visual aesthetic.
